Regulatory approval opens up dairy market

Core Tip: Toray Plastics' (America) packaging materials and manufacturing processes have been approved for interstate dairy shipping by the FDA.


The firm has been granted Interstate Milk Shippers (IMS) certification for single-service products by the US Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.


Toray are planning to expand in the dairy market with packaging and lidding technologies.


Milan Moscaritolo, senior director of sales and marketing, Toray Plastics (America) said: “Milk and dairy products manufacturers who uphold the industry’s standards of excellence expect suppliers to have IMS certification. 


“We are very pleased to let the dairy industry, manufacturers, and converters know that we have earned the IMS certification
.”
